Steeping House Herent

Time for celebration! Yesterday, the Boortmalt site of Herent officially inaugurated  its steeping house, launched six months ago.

Wouter Hollevoet, plant manager of Herent, his team and Boortmalt CEO Yvan Schaepman introduced this place through passionate speeches and guided tours. Also, people exclusively tasted the first beers made in our Antwerp innovation centre with the malt of the steeping house!

This ambitious project aimed to replace the previous 55-year-old steeping house on the Belgian site. In-house designed and built with state-of-the-art materials, it allows a steeping capacity of 47500 MT of malt per year and includes a CO2 heat recovery system.

This new facility reflects and results from the fabulous team spirit of the whole team of Herent. Thank you for this commitment and your expertise! Cheers!
