Main tasks
As group sustainability manager, you support the Chief Sustainability Officer in translating Boortmalt’s sustainability strategy into credible, customer-ready and audit-defensible value chain propositions.
You design frameworks, define methodologies and ensure sustainability claims are robust, consistent and supported by evidence.
You connect strategy to execution across functions while enabling clear, compelling customer communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Value Chain Strategy
Develop frameworks, roadmaps and policies linking sustainability initiatives to customer, reporting and business needs; connect programmes (Scope 3 / FLAG, regenerative agriculture, low-carbon malt) into coherent value propositions and advise on strategic decisions. - Claims Governance
Define and maintain claims governance and evidence standards; ensure all sustainability claims are robust, aligned and supported; manage claims library and mitigate risks such as double counting or traceability gaps. - Customer Enablement
Design processes for customer sustainability requests; provide Commercial teams with clear messaging and evidence; translate complex topics into simple, customer-ready materials and propositions. - Scope 3 / FLAG & Regenerative Agriculture
Define methodologies and evidence requirements; ensure programmes include data, traceability and verification; support allocation, attribution and reporting decisions. - Governance & Operating Model
Lead cross-functional governance; clarify ownership (RACI); identify gaps and support executive decision-making through clear materials and insights. - External & Strategic Development
Monitor trends, regulations and customer expectations; recommend actions; develop decision-support tools and support engagement with customers, suppliers and industry platforms.
Master we are looking for ?
Your profile
- Master’s degree in sustainability, engineering, business, supply chain or similar
- 7–10 years of experience in value-chain sustainability, Scope 3 / FLAG, ESG or related fields
- Strong understanding of GHG accounting, traceability, mass balance and sustainability claims
- Experience working across commercial and technical stakeholders
- Ability to translate complexity into clear, structured and usable outputs
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Strong analytical and presentation skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
