Climate Week NYC 2023

❓ Where does Boortmalt stand in terms of climate action?

🗽 On the occasion of the Climate Week NYC we would like to share our initiatives to reduce our scope 1&2 carbon emissions and better use our energy sources.

🌡 Some years ago, we started our commitment to the 1.5°C SBTi target by reducing our carbon footprint through investing in alternative energy, reducing our current energy consumption, sourcing renewable energy, and working with our suppliers and farmers to get to carbon neutral malting barley.

🎯 Though, getting away from fossil-fuel is a must for us. Therefore, we operate on two main strategies to reach this goal.

♻ Firstly, we aim at implementing more efficient equipment, optimising production schedules and eliminating all energy waste thanks to circular processes.
☀ Secondly, we aim to move from fossil-fuel energy to renewable energy sources.

🔎 But most importantly, we keep exploring new opportunities and technologies to finalise these actions before 2035.
