Boortmalt and BASF validate Europe’s first Verified Impact Units (VIUs).

Together, Boortmalt and BASF Agricultural Solutions have reached a milestone in sustainable agriculture by generating Europe’s first Verified Impact Units (VIUs).

Delivered through BASF’s Global Carbon Farming Program and independently validated & verified by SustainCERT, this achievement marks a significant step toward net-zero barley production in the UK & Ireland. It creates shared value for all participants, ensuring verified emissions reductions and new revenue opportunities for local farmers.
