One of our big aims at Boortmalt is to not only improve the sustainability of our supply chain but to also improve transparency for all stakeholders, especially our customers. CultivUp is a sustainable agriculture channel created by our mother company, Axereal.
The project was started in 2017 with around 1,700 farmers with the aim of meeting customer expectations regarding responsible sourcing. Since 2020, CultivUp is the minimum requirement for farmers to integrate an agriculture channel with sustainability specifications and now includes over 4,000 farmers.
It is an audited process certified at level 2 of HVE (High Environmental Value) from the French Ministry of Agriculture since 2020 and it is also part of SAI certification, contributing to Boortmalt’s 2030 objectives to source at least 95% of our barley from SAI or equivalent certified farms in Europe.
