Main tasks
As Laboratory Supervisor Saskatoon you will perform a variety of standardized laboratory tests used in the analysis, quality, and treatment of barley. Provides instrumentation support for the lab on a variety of laboratory equipment.
Some of your responsibilities are, but not limited to:
• Understand, and on occasion perform, a variety of Laboratory tests related to Malt analysis and quality control.
• Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures.
• Oversee the laboratory analytical performance through monitoring of daily calibration results, ring check performance, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Report accurate results to production/quality/Sales teams on a regular basis in a timely fashion.
• Investigate out of spec parameters.
• Ensure laboratory documentation including methods, work instructions, risk assessments, are compliant with company business management systems.
• Ensure the training new employees on methodology.
• Assist with internal and 3rd party audits as required
Master we are looking for ?
• College technical diploma or higher education in scientific field required
• Sound experience and understanding of laboratory procedures and systems within a food or agricultural environment
• Supervisory experience including coaching and assessing team performance is an asset
• Fluent in English
