Main tasks
As Maintenance Technician Electrical you will maintain and repair all production equipment in order to ensure that all equipment is operating effectively and safely to minimize equipment downtime.
In this role, your core responsibilities will be to:
- Respect the company's Safety, Health, and Environment policy and ensure the adherence of safety and housekeeping of colleagues and area of work respectively.
- Record all the maintenance activities accurately on logbook before handing over the shift.
- Check stock levels and order spare parts in consultation with the electrical supervisor.
- Maintain all tools, equipment, and working areas in good condition; maintain smooth operation of machines during the shift; plan and execute tasks based on their priority.
- Support the production team to minimize losses; assess the performance of contractors when needed; manage electrical activities, modifications, rewiring and parameter registration as per the guidance from the electrical supervisor; follow and present sketches showing locations of wiring and equipment, read and interpret electrical diagrams & blueprint; perform any other job assigned by the supervisor and/or the technic manager as and when required.
- Perform planned and unplanned maintenance activities on the electromechanical equipment and other facilities as required.
- Execute preventive maintenance inspections and repairs in all plant facilities.
- Prioritize, schedule, and take work in consultation with the Electrical Supervisor.
- Target, perform and work towards ensuring quality maintenance, avoid reworks and ensure that maintenance errors are eliminated.
- References PLC programs and uses them to troubleshoot automated equipment.
- Assemble, Installs, test, maintains, and repairs/replace a wiring, a variety of control and instrumentation devices, equipment, appliances, and indoor & outdoor lighting systems using hand tools, power tools and test equipment.
- Execute work orders and tags raised; perform calibration and modifications; perform maintenance on the date coder (markem imaje) machine.
- Apply fault-finding techniques, conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and regular plant inspections; report non-conformance and problems to electrical supervisor/technic manager as per the escalation procedure; monitoring the operational conditions of machinery and equipment; perform LOTO procedure on machines and /or equipment in preparation for maintenance.
- Provide support for the development of Maintenance SOP; implement shift planned running inspections; implement 5S and WCM.
- Must be willing and be able to work in a variable shift schedule that is dependent upon the plant operations; cooperate with the mechanical teams and operators as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment and systems according to established schedules and procedures; diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems; repair and rebuild electrical equipment; install and modify electrical equipment; oversee the work of contract maintenance providers.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities; suggest opportunities for improvement in the maintenance program; participate in BOPEX initiatives; contribute to the energy saving opportunities and in developing energy & sustainability roadmaps.
Master we are looking for ?
- BSc. in Electrical/Electro-mechanical Engineering or related fields.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing industry within a technical function or a background from the malting, brewing or similar related industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices
- Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems
- Excellent hands-on skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Being flexible, willing to learn, ready to work under pressure, aiming to improve effectivity, respect others, good at listening.
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, Grinders, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
