Missions essentielles

As a Production
Manager, you will:

Lead the safe,
efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality malt, ensuring
customer requirements are met through effective production planning, team
leadership, inventory management, continuous improvement, and strong
operational performance.

Key
Responsibilities

Safety Management

  • Champion a zero-harm culture and ensure
    EH&S remains integral to daily operations.
  • Take ownership of workplace safety for
    employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Drive continuous improvement in health,
    safety, and environmental performance.

Team Leadership
& Development

  • Lead and manage Production and Maintenance
    teams, fostering a positive and engaged culture.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, performance
    management, and employee development.
  • Ensure clear procedures are documented and
    maintained for effective training.
  • Promote strong communication through
    regular team meetings and one-to-one discussions.

Production &
Operational Excellence

  • Plan production schedules and achieve
    quality, yield, and efficiency targets.
  • Optimize processing parameters in line
    with customer requirements and company standards.
  • Manage barley and malt inventories, stock
    movements, and blend control.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure
    efficient inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Maintain GMP compliance and accurate
    inventory management within SAP and MAPPS.
  • Support production activities hands-on
    when required.
  • Implement forward planning and continuous
    improvement initiatives to maximize plant capability and minimize costs.

Food Safety &
Quality

  • Promote and strengthen a food safety
    culture across the plant.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, Quality,
    Continuous Improvement, and Food Safety requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 14001, ISO
    45001, and ISO 50001 management systems.

Customer &
Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure malt is produced and supplied in
    line with customer quality, service, and delivery expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships
    with customers.
  • Foster positive relationships with union
    delegates and employee representatives.

Financial &
Business Performance

  • Monitor and optimize utility consumption,
    production yields, and labor efficiency.
  • Support achievement of operational and
    budgetary targets.
  • Implement and monitor Boortmalt policies,
    processes, and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure accurate stock reconciliations,
    sample submissions, Certificates of Analysis, and management reporting.

KPI Ownership

  • Deliver strong performance across:
    • Safety and Zero Harm objectives
    • Production volume and plant capability
      targets
    • First Time Right (FTR) quality
      performance
    • Utility consumption and cost efficiency
    • Fixed and variable cost management
    • BOPEX production benchmarks
    • Employee engagement and culture

Master recherché

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Science,
    Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience leading teams
    in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of malting operations and
    production techniques.
  • Experience within a Food Safety Compliance
    auditing environment.
  • Experience in capital plan development and
    execution.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and people management
    capabilities.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation
    skills.
  • Problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis
    expertise.
  • Strong written and verbal communication
    skills in English.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft
    Office Suite.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such
    as SAP and MAPPS.
