Missions essentielles

As Group Sustainable Agriculture Manager, you will report to the Chief Operations and Agriculture Officer.

For this position we are looking for an individual with a strong agri analytical foundation and a background and keen interest, in sustainable and carbon neutral (and beyond) farming. You will have the opportunity to develop data-driven insights to influence how we achieve our strategy, to develop drive and visualize our road maps and the performance of our suppliers (coops, traders, dealers) and farmers. We will look to you to continuously identify and develop opportunities for improving the carbon footprint of barley, the biodiversity and the SAI concepts across the globe. You will look for solutions to take CFT and other data from different sources and transforming it into valuable business insights. You will use this data to identify best practices and to support the regions in organizing best practice sharing events together with suppliers, third parties and customers.You are the point of contact for the Global barley and sales team and the go to person for all initiatives and roadmaps as well as for CFT (or equivalent) data gathering.

As the Group's Sustainable Agriculture Manager, you are a key member of the Group Operations team providing guidance and leadership on all sustainable farming projects across the Boortmalt Group.

You will work with external parties like customers, suppliers, 3rd parties, farmers,… and be the go-to person for developing, leading/driving and delivering our Scope 3 roadmaps as well as providing regular insights & data reporting to internal + external Stakeholders.

Further your tasks will exist of but not be limited to:

Drive together with external parties, agro, sales & barley team all sustainable barley Scope 3 roadmaps per region to reach our FLAG commitment at Group level.

2. Establish and monitor & Control all Global Agri programs including certification on CO2 as well as SAI or equivalent.

3. Use the CFT data to identify barley footprints, trends, areas for improvement, best practices and develop proposals to achieve the results needed to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees through our farmer programs subject to our business needs in each region

4. Identify the right 3rd parties for data gathering, data validation, certificate generation,…. In line with the different needs of each region and program

5. Develop industry leading reporting on barley footprint & SAI certified through power-BI (or equivalent) and potentially other tools in the future.

6. Work with Group IT to create automatic data collection through our business systems (or external systems) rather than through excel.

7. Ensure statistical analysis on our farmer data is used to support drawing the right conclusions, identifying links and correlations, making our Agri projects successful.

8. Be always well informed on the latest on sustainable farming, Government guidelines, Funding opportunities, Trends and Requirements

9.Support the Sustainability Data manager in correct/accurate reporting on our farmer programs (CDP, EcoVadis,….)

10. Guide all the regions and functions in answering question of customers on sustainable farming programs practices in sustainability & quality and to also support all the regions in organizing best practice sharing events together with suppliers, third parties and customers.

Master recherché

- You have a proven track record in managing global multicultural teams in a matrix environment.

- Good analytical skills is a must with proven experience to run basic statistical analysis on farmer data (CFT).

- Good understanding of the sustainable farming environment, SAI, SBTi FLAG, Label Bas Carbone,…

- Strong and proven influencing skills to get data and information in on time and to drive change.

- Thorough knowledge of environmental footprint approaches and methodologies

- GHG protocol, IPCC,….

- Good relationship skills and trust building in a complex environment.

- Strong communications skills from farmer to brewer.

- Strong strategic thinking skills

- ability to think analytically and problem solving across multi-regions and multi years.

- Information seeking capabilities

- in order to fill data gaps, identify critical information needs, and develop workaround solutions as needed

- Interest to work in a company which is fully committed to improving its global sustainability culture/environment.

- Masters Degree in Biology, Agronomy or equivalent through experience

- Experience and affinity with handling data demonstrated passion for sustainable farming.

- Fluent in English. French is truly important for that role. Any other language is optional.

- High familiarity with O365 tools and data gathering/reporting tools.
