Boortmalt is looking for a passionate and driven Group Sustainability Manager – Data & Systems Management to join our global team.

Boortmalt is strengthening its global sustainability foundation and seeking a senior expert to further build the backbone of our ESG performance and reporting. This is a unique opportunity to shape a global sustainability data ecosystem, drive digitalisation, and ensure that our reporting is robust, transparent and future-ready.
Why this role matters
High-quality sustainability data is essential for decision-making, strategy, customer trust and regulatory compliance. You will lead the systems, processes and methodologies that ensure Boortmalt’s ESG data is accurate, traceable and audit-ready – supporting major reporting cycles, customer engagements and external assurance.
This is a senior expert role with end-to-end responsibility for the Group’s sustainability data systems and methodologies. You will work across functions and regions, with strong visibility toward senior leadership, reporting directly to the Chief Sustainability Officer, and act as Boortmalt’s technical anchor for ESG data.
What you will do
Strengthen and further build Boortmalt’s sustainability data backbone
- Maintain and improve sustainability data architecture (energy, GHG, water, waste, social metrics)
- Define and implement data governance standards with robust validation, processes, controls and audit trails
- Administer ESG and MRV platforms and ensure consistency and integration across sites
Lead ESG/GHG reporting and assurance readiness
- Consolidate Group-wide sustainability data for the Sustainability report, regulatory and voluntary disclosures (CSRD/ESRS, CDP etc.)
- Develop dashboards and tools providing clear visibility on key ESG indicators for internal steering and external engagement
- Calculate product environmental and carbon footprints
- Manage sustainability ratings (e.g. CDP, EcoVadis) and customer sustainability questionnaires
- Serve as the primary contact for auditors and assurance providers
Ensure alignment with methodologies, standards and regulatory compliance
- Apply and interpret international reporting frameworks (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, CSRD/ESRS etc.) and ensure documentation and compliance with standards and expectations
- Track regulatory developments and prepare the organization accordingly
- Engage proactively with stakeholders (internal and external) to clarify methodologies and strengthen confidence in reporting
Drive continuous improvement of sustainability performance, data and digitalization
- Identify improvements to streamline ESG data collection and validation
- Benchmark performance and data processes against industry best practices
- Drive digitalisation, automation and integration of site-level and regional systems
Build capability and collaboration
- Train regional and site teams on sustainability data processes, metrics and share outcomes of benchmarking internally
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Agriculture, Energy, IT, Procurement, HR and other relevant functions to embed sustainability KPIs into business processes
- Maintain strong relationship with customers, MRV partners, auditors and external data providers.
Master recherché
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Sustainability Management, Data Analytics, or similar
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sustainability data management, reporting, and GHG accounting; consulting or assurance experience strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of GHG Protocol (Scopes 1–3 incl. FLAG), ISO 14064, CSRD/ESRS, and external assurance requirements
- Experience in LCA, product carbon foot printing or value chain emission accounting
- Hands-on experience with ESG/MRV data systems and visualisation tools (Power BI or similar)
- Advanced Excel/database capabilities; proficiency in data visualisation and automation tools
- Strong stakeholder management, collaboration and communication skills
- Fluent English (working language); Dutch or other European languages are a plus
