Description of role

We are looking for shift engineer to the join the Boortmalt Engineering team at our maltings in Bury St Edmunds.   The engineering team  team is responsible for minimising operational downtime and maximising operational efficiencies through ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of the plant and machinery.

In pursuit of this goal the post holder will undertake reactive maintenance activities along with performing planned preventative maintenance tasks.

Boortmalt promotes a positive health and safety culture and as such it is a requirement of the role that the post holder prioritises health and safety and ensures that our standards in terms of product safety, quality and environment are followed.

The role is shift based and so flexibility to work shifts, days, nights and weekends is essential for this role.

Required skills

The person we are looking for is a time-served & qualified mechanical engineer. Experience in malting, grain processing, brewing or food manufacturing activities is desired. Additionally the post holder must be reliable and resilient with a can do attitude.
