Boortmalt's expertise is widely acknowledged by brewers and distillers who rely on the supply of top quality barley malt.The Boortmalt Group is a fully owned subsidiary of the agricultural and agribusiness cooperative Axereal. Our relationship with Axereal, Europe's largest grain cooperative, ensures us access to high quality barley year round.

Main tasks

As a technical manager for our plant in Hungary, you will lead technical operational activities on site to ensure all equipment is operating effectively and safely. Your goal is to minimize equipment downtime and deliver sustainable year on year performance improvement at least cost.

Your responsibilities are: 

- Develop & drive an integrated maintenance team to continuously improve plant performance in line with business strategy requirements
- Set up and implement technical internal standards and procedures to ensure sustainable operation of the plant according to the technical capability and to produce budgeted volumes
- Reporting of maintenance operational performance
- Support of CAPEX planning & implementation of same on time and within budget
- Undertake root cause analysis of any out of specification result and recommend required corrective & preventive actions to avoid repeat occurences
- Optimization of technical malting plant performance
- Ensure operational readiness for customer audits and technical reviews
- Lead site team input into the development of new operational tools and systems and implementation of the operational function 5-year strategy
- Ensure the respect of all procedures, regulation and policies applicable
- Help the team achieve daily operational objectives and deliver the highest possible level of personal and collective contribution to the business goal
- Create and maintain a positive and results orientated environment where mutual trust, confidence and respect for company culture and values prevails.  

Master we are looking for ? Master recherché

- Minimum 3 years of direct experience working in the repair and maintenance of machinery, preferably in a food or beverage manufacturing environment. 
- Awareness of HACCP, food hygiene and safety requirements. 
- Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving skills. 
- Excellent people management skills.
- Graduate in recognised technical/engineering discipline. Notions of Biochemistry are a plus.
- Good level of English and Hungarian
