Logistics
Control of the international supply chain from
the malting plant to the truck, train, container
or ship ensures full traceability to the brewery.
The ideal location of our malting plant &
export terminal (SOBELGRA) in Antwerp (Belgium)
and Port La Nouvelle (France) on the Mediterranean
give both flexibility and easy access to any overseas
market in total bulk, container bulk and bags
from a truck load to a handy-size ship.
In Antwerp, a fully automated bagging line provides
fast loading and a container terminal in joint
venture secures container movement efficiency
to the shipping lines terminals.
Granit Service, our subsidiary, manages rail transport
and provides a quick and efficient transfer to
the ports according to demand.
Combined malt and barley loading can also be provided
in Antwerp.
Truck and train loading are available in both
Croatia and Hungary; located on Danube banks,
the latter can also load barges.

Adapting logistics
The unique location of the Antwerp malting plant
in its port and its link with the “Sobelgra”
and “Samga” silos gives it direct
access to the waterways, the sea and global
markets. Brewer customers also combine deliveries
of different maltsters at Sobelgra to fill large
ships heading to Brazil or Venezuela, for example.
The Antwerp site also has an effective packing
chain offering genuine competitive advantage.
Two full 1250 ton trains loaded with malt or
barley travel between the Issoudun and Antwerp
malting plants each week.
